Pop Physique Round II

So I tried my second hand at Pop Physique, I have to say it was improved but still not exactly what I would want in a barre class. But I actually sweat and got tired, not feeling sore or anything but I think if I go a few more times I will feel it. I still don't think I will go back after my set of classes are done. Have you guys ever invested in something you didn't really care for? What did you do? Use it till it was done or throw your hands up and give up on it? Also, how do you feel about having a butt on your screen? It's on like all of there pages! Can you tell I'm not a fan?

I have decided to put myself on a little shopping ban. Why you ask? I'm pretty sure I'm out of control, that's probably an exaggeration but looking at what I've been purchasing and tempted by, I've decided to put myself on an all out ban on clothing. This might not be hard for the average person but I work across the street from a mall! I literally see cute things everyday! AH! Also, gifts with purchase? Forget about it! I almost caved to the Saks GIANT gift with purchase. Tempting tempting!!! I'm going to put a filter on my email so I won't be tempted by coupons, email blasts, new collections etc. If any of you are wondering how to do that here are instructions. I guess I could give it up for lent a couple weeks late even though I'm not Catholic ;) Are any of you giving anything up for lent? Have you ever given anything up? I feel like this is like another New Years Resolution but much shorter!

Packing list for...

Just about anything! I made this list a few years ago for when I go anywhere and it's been a huge help not only to me but Mr. Chris uses it as well! So since Noelle is going to have my nephew any day now I thought it would be appropriate to share it will all of you! Are any of you guys going anywhere cool soon?! Is there anything I need to add?

Here is what has been keeping me so distracted over the past few days and throwing me into fits of giggles. Literally fits. Mr. Chris thinks I'm insane, and if he wants to watch me keel over he just says "Curl, y u no here?" haha right now, as I'm typing, I'm laughing. It's a problem! I'm sure everyone has seen this poor girl but here it is again, and curl, y u no here!?!?!?!?
Do you guys watch beauty gurus? I totally do, even though I already know what they are teaching, like curling your hair? Come on! I thought everyone knows 20 seconds is wayyyyy too long but I guess you live and you learn and ask "Curl, y u no here?!"
side note: I had to stop for a second to gather myself together enough to finish writing.

Spin Doctor

This is more of a 'love your body' or 'love yourself' post, which I think is definitely worth talking about! After I moved to Charlotte I gained a lot of weight, probably 20-25 pounds. Hey! I didn't have any friends, so food was my friend! I'm not totally what got into me, maybe it was the fact that I was going to Hawaii for my graduation present or the fact that I was going to a beach school for college but something got into my brain that told me I need to get my booty moving! It also helped that my mom decided to invest in a stationary bike. That bike helped me drop whatever extra weight I carried in about 3 months. I was on that thing non-stop! At least an hour a day! It had(s) 8 different resistance settings and I usually did about 10 minutes on each resistance. I read on it, listened to the radio, studied for finals, I was one determined girl!
That was about 8 years ago. I've been able to keep my weight pretty maintained since then, obviously I had some missteps, I mean I was in college 4 of those years! But these memories all came rushing back when I finally went to my first spin class last night. I've heard it's hard, and a lot of people don't like it, it hurts your butt wah wahh. I finally went, got my bike adjusted and rode and rode! My class was 30 minutes of spin and 30 minutes of core work and it was awesome! I'll definitely be going back and now I really want to constantly switch up my routine. Still go to the gym at least 4 days a week but do something different too! If you like to push yourself I think spin is a good option, it's all based on yourself you just have someone guiding you. What work outs are you guys into these days? Right now I'm doing yoga, hip hop core, boot camp and now spin! For some FAQ's head here and here!

Love is...

So many things! But for the past few days, it's been:
Getting me ginger ales and crackers
Making sure my ipad is charged so when I wake up for minutes at a time I can watch something that will make me laugh and know being sick doesn't last forever
(Also, giving me your Hulu+ password so I can watch all of The New Girl and The Mindy Project THANKS MOM!)
Making sure our house is clean when our landlord comes over...
Numerous other things and then all of that reversed on him when he gets sick!
We aren't sick anymore but it's the little things that make a marriage, friendship, love, work. Pretty grateful that Mr. Chris is willing to run out in the freezing cold to get me some gingys when I'm feeling so poorly.
After you've been sick aren't you grateful to be alive!? I know several times after I felt like I was at deaths door I felt like this:
So tell me, what always makes you feel better?

Sick Days

Am I taking off a day or two because I've been sick? Yes. Do I feel bad about it? Yes. Will I make it up to you? Hopefully. See you soon! I hope if you had a long weekend it wasn't full of sickness and fevers!

It's OVER!

Ha! I hope you all had a lovely Valentines Day, and spent it with someone you love, or like or spent time pampering yourself! We spent ours with several different friends eating and drinking. Our food was all so delicious and we all went to bed early since one of us had to get up at 4 in the morning to catch a flight! AH! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, I know I'm going to be sleeping in!

Last minute gifts!

Ah! You're stuck! But I'm here to help! Last minute gifts for your lady friend:
Candles: You can get them ANYWHERE! Fill the room with them, unscented, or get just one really nice smelling one.
Spa day: also, get ANYWHERE: nail polish, lotions, oils, massage tools, masks, scrubs, bath bombs, a robe or some fuzzy socks and you're golden.
Dinner: Preferably homemade but if you're really in a pinch pick up some sushi, edamame, sake, and green tea ice cream, or take out and pick up a movie your lady likes or will like or wants to see.
Flowers: Any kind! Roses are pretty overrated, grab some from a vendor or if a fresh market still has some available or even Costco has good ones!
Or you can be majorly classic and buy something online, print out a picture of it and put it in your card!

If you're looking for something for your man:
Cologne: If you think it smells nice, he'll want to wear it!
Gift cards: itunes, restaurants, hardware stores, specialty stores, REI, the possibilities are endless!
Drinks: I feel like every guy I know has a specialty drink he loves, make him a little kit with all the best ingredients for his favorite drink.
Candy: I know that's usually a girl thing but everyone likes candy don't they?
Ingredients: for a meal he loves but you hate to make

Good luck!

Treat Yo Self!

So it might be mildly obvious that I love Parks & Rec and who doesn't love to treat themselves? I know right now some of us are trying to tighten the purse strings but there are times when you really just need to treat ourselves. So pick your favorite thing to do and TREAT YO SELF!
For me? Online shopping, (browsing and therefore pinning), going to Forever 21 and getting tiny bits of jewelry, stopping by Bath and Body Works and smelling all the candles, going to a make up counter and trying way too many samples or even getting it done, going to yoga or a really long run or both if time allows it, the options are endless! Just thinking about doing those things makes me feel a little lighter.  But if I were to REALLY treat myself I would go to LUSH and pick up some bath time essentials and really, truly  try to relax. Put on a mask, take a warm bath, read a book then wrap up in my fluffiest robe, order take out and watch a movie. No clean up? I can deal with that! What's your idea of a relaxing night?

Gal-entines Day!

If you're not feelin the opposite sex, or the same sex for some of you, then you should spend some time with your gals, or bros. But since I'm a girl I can tell you what I want to do for Galentines day! Obviously since we all still have to work we cant go our for a fabulous brunch and take off the get our nails done we just have to do this after work. So find a place that has champagne at the salon or get reservations where you can get your flights of champagne or wine.
OR if you're a thrifty nickle like I am you can grab your own champagne, a couple bottles of your favorite varnish some chick flicks, maybe a mask or two and call in some take out and gab to your ladies about all that troubles you and maybe down some chocolates...and then plan how you will work off those calories! Because life goes on!  What do you have planned for Val or Galentines day?

Valentines Cards

If you are much of a gift giver you can always go with a classic card and some heartfelt words written by you or someone awesome from Hallmark. Which ever your choice here are some options that will warm your persons heart!
I am obsessed with Sugar Paper, so the top three options are from there:
And Papyrus:
Maple and Belmont:
Or you can work out your creative juices and make your own!

Another Mushy Video for your Friday

Dangit! Guys, I love anything to do with the hearing impaired world. I signed for a fair part of my college life and it's sad to say that I've forgotten a lot of what I learned but I still really like watching signers and people's reactions to them. (Their face is supposed to be super expressive) At first it was weird to sign and make the faces and then they came naturally and I got super good at charades. Okay off topic, this lady could actually hear before and lost her hearing and then got a cochlear implant which are pretty controversial in the deaf community. My point is there are so many types of love, this is a pretty common one but here's the story, get the tissues...

Valentines Date Guide

These are things you can do with your significant other, best friend, sibling, someone you love not necessarily someone you're in love with!
Wine tasting - duh, fun, informative aaand wine! Maybe save this one for girl friends or someone you've been with for a while. You don't want to get tanked with someone new!
Go Carting - Chris and my brother-in-law love to go go-carting together, it's so much fun!
Mini golf or driving range - Being active and breaking a touch barrier if you're on a first date :)
Indoor climbing - I love to climb, also they can teach you how to tie the knots (; you can free climb or climb with a partner, I think climbers might be the nicest, most welcoming people. The first time I ever went I thought people would be snobby or something but they were super nice and helpful!
Cooking Class - learn something new and make your own dinner at the same time.
Picnic - If you live in an area what has nice weather now I would LOVE to go on a picnic.
Hiking - If you live in an area where it's cold you can still go outside on a little hike, some champagne and lots of blankets, a little star gazing?
Go Camping! - make a blanket fort inside! I think this is so much fun and a little throw back, romantic or just fun to hang out with your friendsies!
Biking -ANYTHING outside! Who doesn't love a bicycle built for two!?
Game Night - Chris and I love to break out the cards and challenge each other to a good old game of Egyptian Rat Screw, you might like Catch Phrase or Settlers of Cattan or whatever!
Recreate how you met - For Mr. Chris and I that would be playing ultimate frisbee!
What sounds good to you? Do you have any more suggestions? I definitely want to do all of these in the next few months!

What are you planning on wearing for Valentines day??

Valentines Meal Plan

So to make the day a bit more special I usually make a special breakfast and dinner. Where is lunch you ask? I'm only one person! haha! So the day before I will make these scones which I made last year, we're thinking we might make them a tradition!
For dinner we'll be having a Caesar salad and this Cajun dish. Chris and I love this dish from Cajun Queen so I thought it would be fun for us to make it here with lots of bread!
If we aren't completely stuffed from that we will be enjoying this dessert from Edible Perspective
What are you guys planning on eating? Are you going to make dinner or are you going to go out?

Valentine Gifts for HIM

Honestly, I haven't always been a big fan of Valentine's Day, mostly because I think it's silly. But over the past few years I've grown to like it a little, mostly because I love hearts, flowers, pink, red and love! :) So here is a gift guide to what you might want to get for your guy, or for yourself! I think a gift card for activities that he likes or wants to try are a great start, or to use as a future date! Some ideas are: go-carting, shooting range, driving range, or a climbing gym.

Pair those with some tumblers as well!
